Zoo - Park

Yesterday we went to the park, and today we went to the Zoo. Miles had a blast at both, and although it was Quincy's first visit to both, as expected, he did not show much interest.

At the park yesterday, here is Miles having fun with pine needles:

And practicing the balance beam:

Here we are at the zoo, at Miles favorite animal, the 'stinky brown buffalo', as he calls them. He was very excited that this buffalo was so close, and that he got to see him eat.

Here are the boys in our new stroller. Miles really likes being able to sit and watch Quincy, or turn around to sit and watch the animals as we go by. He loves being able to get on and off whenever he wants, and that he can stand up and reach my snack tray!

Quiet Sunday

We had a quiet day yesterday, just playing together as a family at home. Here is Miles in his 'soldier outfit' he insists on wearing his Handy Manny hard hat and rain boots each time he uses his sword and calls himself a soldier. He is trying to do his soldier face here, but I couldn't quite get the true soldier face he does, which normally has his eyes rolling up because he thinks this makes him look mean!

And here is Q - out cold:

Grandma D

Grandma D came down to help out and visit this past week. She just left today, and we already miss her! Miles and Quincy really liked spending time with both of their grandmothers. Here are some pics of the boys with Grandma D:

Mine Baby Brother

The other night I took Miles and Quincy (along with my Mom) to see the end of band camp performance. For the most part Miles just ran around, exhausting Grandma. As we were leaving, Miles was sitting on his part of the stroller, looking at his baby brother when one of the band parents stopped to see the boys and say hello. Miles proudly told the parent "this mine baby brother." Then proceeded to say "this mine friend, baby brother." Awww.

We're Home

Hello all, Quincy and I are home from the hospital. In fact we have been home a few days now, since Monday evening, but as you know, life with a newborn and a toddler has a way of consuming most of your time! Quincy is doing quite well, he now opens his eyes and is alert for a few short periods of time during the day. I love when he just sits there and looks at me. He is just so very precious. Big brother Miles is doing very well so far. Grandma Morris is here for the week to help out, and Miles has had a blast playing with her. The two of them are at the zoo right now. Miles seems to like his baby brother, he wants to make sure he knows where he is if he can't see him. He came running over to us yesterday when I told him that Quincy was awake - he wanted to see his brother awake! Oh, and he is helping Quincy with his manners. In the car yesterday Quincy passed gas and Miles said 'Excuse you Quincy."

I am trying to get more brother pictures, but Miles doesn't stay still for very long!

Baby is here

Hello Everyone,

This is Michael (The Husband) writing on behalf of Kris.
At 2:00am this morning Kris awoke with some pretty good back pain and noticed the pain intensified every 8-10 Minutes. Around 6:00am when the pains were every 3-4 minutes we packed up everything and "The Big Brother" and were off to some friends house. We dropped off Miles and headed in the hospital. They were unable to detect the cervix to see how dilated she was. So they pulled out the Ultrasound Machine and discovered that the baby was lying across Kris's body rather than up and down. So.... across the body= breach=C-Section. They Kris right in and at 9:07 am we welcomed little Quincy into the world.

Here is a picture of the little man. Notice all the hair.
I am sure Kris will fill you in later.

Belly Pics - 38 weeks

Here we go again, hopefully these will be the last belly pics! Well, hopefully I at least won't grow anymore. For some reason some of the pics came out blurry, I guess I just had a harder time keeping the camera still. But here are the most recent pics of my belly, with a couple of others for comparison. I just can't imagine me growing for another 2-4 weeks! Ugh.

Me at 27 weeks - (11 weeks ago):

Me at 34 weeks - just 4 weeks ago:
Me at 38 weeks, today, two angles:

More Random Miles' Moments

* The other day Miles got his play vacuum and said "I be grandma" and started to pretend vacuum. I'm not quite sure where he got this, I don't know if he has ever seen either Grandma vacuuming...

* Another day, I was trying to get Miles to do something on his own, to which he replied "No, I'm a little boy, I can't do it." I asked him what he could do when he was a big boy. His answer: "Help baby brother." Awww.

* His newest form of self entertainment - he calls it skating. Yes, they are lids for pots. And yes, he is walking around the house with them on his feet.

Time for your baby guesses

Alright everyone, I am now 37 weeks, which means that the doctors now consider me 'full term'. I am asking you all to post a comment letting us know when you think the new baby will arrive and how big you think he will be. For a little background, Miles was induced almost 2 weeks past his due date and he was 9lbs 4oz. My due date is August 21. And no, there is not a prize for the person(s) that are correct/closest - this is just for fun! I look forward to seeing your guesses.
