Cousins

Here is Miles with his cousins Madison and Tyler. They are having a ball together this weekend. And yes, that is Miles eating a chocolate chip cookie in both pictures. It is pretty much all he ate for Thanksgiving yesterday.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This year I have so much to be thankful for. I have a loving, caring husband. I have two wonderful, adorable, healthy sons. I am able to stay home to take care of and spend time with my sons. My parents are healthy and happy. And my brother and his family are coming to join us for Thanksgiving weekend, in fact, they should be here any minute. I am really looking forward to spending time with my brother and his family, and watching the cousins play together.

Quincy's arc

Tonight I gave Quincy his bath before I did the dishes. His bathtub is on the counter, with him facing the sink. My sink is a double sink, and the side closest to the tub was empty. At one point during the bath I was shampooing his hair and thought I saw water out of the corner of my eye. It was not water. It was Quincy peeing over the empty sink and straight into the dirty dishes. It was a perfect arc. That'll teach me not to do dishes before bathtime.

Oh, and when I looked back at Quincy, he had a big giant grin on his face.

Not so humble

Mike and Miles were doing a puzzle yesterday, and Miles is very good at puzzles, and this conversation happened:

Mike: "You are a genius."
Miles: " I am a genius."
Mike: "Are you humble?"
Miles: "No, I am Miles."

Random pics

This was a fairly quiet week. Earlier in the week we went to our annual Thanksgiving brunch playdate with my Mom's group. It was loads of fun, we got to eat yummy food, I got to visit with many of my Mommy friends, and Miles played so hard that he was tuckered out so much that he asked to go to bed early, at 6:30.

More imagination and the cardboard box house later in the week:

Quincy is just growing up so quickly. I was surprised yesterday to see how old he looked while sitting in the swing:

Yesterday Miles got to spend several hours playing at a friends house, and this was him at about 5pm last night. He fell asleep laying on the couch normally, then slowly fell over, eventually coming to rest in this position. Luckily the carseat was there, or he would have fallen right off the couch!

Imagination

Miles has a wonderful imagination right now. This morning especially so. In a matter of about 30 minutes wearing just a plastic yellow construction hat and a pair of rain boots over his pjs he was: a cowboy, a fireman, a soldier, a pirate, a scooter man (while riding his scooter around) and a working man. He used one of his little chairs as the cowboy's horse and the driver seat for the firetruck. He used a drum stick for the soldier and pirate's sword. This morning his cardboard house was also a restaurant, an office (with a pretend computer and phone), a fire station, his bedroom (with a pretend train set), and his own bathroom. Oh and he straddled a broom and flew around the house like a witch.

Uhm

Last night:
Mike: "Gosh"
Miles: "D***-it"
Miles: "I finished for you Daddy!"

Uhm, I think someone has been paying attention to what we say. And we need to be paying attention!

Wet week

It has been a wet week at our house. Our dishwasher broke and leaked water under the linoleum, so we now have a new dishwasher, and will most likely be getting a new floor.

It has also been a wet, rainy week. Yesterday Miles and I did lots of crafts, and then got out splashing around in the rain puddles. This morning's rainy day fun has been provided by the new dishwasher box...

Not only did we have fun decorating and playing in his house, here he is fixing up his house. No doubt trying to straighten the shutters I put on the windows.

Halloween

Here are the boys in their Halloween costumes. Miles did not want to wear his mask, because he didn't want to scare other people. Hehe. We went out trick-or-treating in our neighborhood for about 20 minutes, and then Miles was done and wanted to go take his costume off. Mike had a football game, so we headed over there and Miles got to eat some of his halloween candy. I think he had more fun at the game then he did trick-or-treating, but he liked all the candy he got!

Miles as a 'scary' skeleton:

And here is Quincy not very happy about being a bumblebee:
