Backing up

Quincy is working really hard learning to crawl, so far he has only learned to go backwards. He hasn't figured out that he needs to move his hands forward in order to go forward. Here he is, backing himself into a tight spot:

Get Fit week 8

This was an okay week. Our workouts were very good, still pushing ourselves harder and doing more. We were just okay for staying on a healthy diet. I had a few desserts, and a couple of meals that I shouldn't have. We'll see at the next weigh-in how much it hurt. But my Dad was here, and one of the days we were visiting at my aunt's house. I had a great visit with my Dad, and with my aunt and uncle, so I'll forgive myself for a few extra desserts.

Visit with Grandpa

My Dad got here yesterday and is here to visit with us for most of the week. The boys are loving having him here and are having fun playing with him. We have been out playing in the backyard, been for walks around the neighborhood, gone splashing in rain puddles, played with trains - a lot, read books together, and just lots of playing.

Here's Quincy with his Grandpa:

And here is Dad trying to take a nap, and Miles not letting him:

Get Fit week 7

Well, it was a mixed week. We started out the week missing a workout. But then we really put extra into the rest of the workouts this week. I ate okay. I would say this week was an improvement, but I still had a couple of days that I ate some leftover valentine treats. On my early week weigh-in I had not changed weight, no gain, no loss. Which I was happy with since I ate horribly last week. I feel like I am on a better track now, let's see if I can keep it up. And my Dad is coming down tomorrow to visit for most of the week, so I'm guessing my lack of will power will have an excuse. But I am going to try to keep eating healthy.

My valentines

Yesterday was a nice quiet day at home with my three favorite guys. I made a nice dinner of steak topped with shrimp and a gorgonzola cheese sauce, with couscous, string beans, and a pear/goat cheese salad with maple vinagrette dressing. Yum. Mike made a delicious white chocolate mousse/strawberry sauce parfait. Yum yum. And after the kids went to bed, Mike turned the living room into a small theater and we watched the final performance of Rent on dvd that he had picked up for our 'date' last night. It was a wonderful valentine's day, best of all I got to spend time with my guys, and watch them play together.

Getting ready to move

Quincy has been getting stronger. All week he has been working on sitting up on his own, and he can now do that pretty well.
Today he started doing well getting up on his hands and knees, and even started rocking back and forth while up there. He is very anxious to be moving on his own.

Get Fit week 6

Almost half way through my 90 day challenge, and we are still going. This week the exercise portion was great, I really feel like I pushed myself more and did much better, despite breaks for early rising children. On the other hand, the diet portion is still a struggle. I can't seem to get my will power in check and leave the junk food alone. On top of that we went out for lunch on Wednesday and although there were several very healthy choices on the menu, I went for something that could have been healthier, plus got an appetizer, onion rings and we shared a dessert. Ugh. At my beginning of the week weigh-in I had lost almost 4 pounds, I'm thinking that by the next weigh-in I will have gained that all back.

6 month check up

Quincy turned 6 months old on Sunday, and had his 6 month appointment today. As expected, he is doing just fine, and growing well. He is now: height - 26 inches (50th percentile), weight - 17.36 lbs (70th percentile), and head - 17 3/4 inches (75th percentile).

So he is still a bit of a chunky monkey. But he is happy, smiley and healthy, so we are very happy!

First haircut

Quincy got his first haircut today, and he looks so much older! I was a bad Momma and forgot the camera in all the hub-bub of leaving this morning, so no pictures of him while he is getting his haircut. But he did great, very curious and a bit leary of the razor, but he didn't cry or fuss at all.

Here he is yesterday (before):

Get Fit week 5

This week went pretty well. Although I missed one day of work-out this week, I came back the next day refreshed and ready to go. I'm still having trouble giving up junk food munchies, but I am trying to get better. Needless to say, my weight isn't dropping very much, but I do feel better and more fit. How are you all doing?

Snow

It snowed a bit this morning. And Miles again was pressed at the window watching it come down. Unfortunately, it has already stopped snowing and what little we got is already starting to melt.

At the park

Today was a nice sunny day in the 50s, so we took advantage and took the kids and dog to a nearby park. This park has several baseball fields that are completely fenced in, and great for dogs when it is not baseball season. So Rocky had fun running around 'free' and Miles had fun chasing him.
